how to make brown sugar buttermilk syrup

  • Put all ingredients into a 2-quart saucepan and bring to a boil.
  • Boil for 1 minute.

  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • ⅔ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Karo Syrup
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp vanilla
Instructions

    I use this recipe A LOT… in fact… if we make some ‘breakfast food’ aka pancakes, waffles, crepes… etc…. I ALWAYS have the kids make this recipe in my classes, because
    #1 it is SO much better than syrup from a bottle
    #2 I want them to see how simple it is to make
    #3 I just love it!
