This Cranberry Fluff Salad with Apples and Walnuts is AMAZING! One of the best things I’ve ever eaten and an absolute must for your Thanksgiving or Christmas Dinner.
I love the mix of tangy, sweet, and creamy flavor in every bite! Trust me! You’ll be praising my name for sharing this recipe with ya.
Last year my friend, Heather, casually mentioned that her family has a tradition of eating this yummy cranberry salad with Thanksgiving dinner. Thanksgiving had passed, so I decided to put it on our Christmas Dinner menu. It was FANTASTIC! Definitely, my favorite part of the whole meal. I will never, NEVER let another Thanksgiving or Christmas pass without making this mind-blowing recipe.

One of the most exciting things about this Cranberry Fluff Salad with Apples and Walnuts is it doesn’t get its flavor from a Jello packet (Don’t get me wrong. I love almost every Jello Salad known to man), but this salad gets all of its awesomeness from the cranberries, apples, walnuts, sugar and whipping cream. With just five ingredients, it’s a no-fuss, quick recipe…the only thing is you have to remember to prepare the cranberries (crush them and sprinkle them with the sugar) the night before.

A similar recipe used to be on the 1lb. package of fresh cranberries back in the 70s. It also included marshmallows but was too sweet. This one is better tasting. It’s also good with pecans.

I didn’t realize there used to be a recipe on the package. This is one of my all time favorite holiday foods, I like it much better without marshmallows too!

This recipe has been a favorite family tradition forever. Agree…NO Marshmallows. The only thing different we always do is to drain most of the juice off of the cranberry/sugar mixture before mixing into the other items.
Maria
I love hearing that someone else has this as a tradition! SOOOOO delicious!

I made this for Thanksgiving, and my family loved it. Do you think using a bag of frozen cranberries would work? I froze them when I found cranberries on sale a few weeks ago.
Maria
Yes, I use frozen cranberries for it all the time. So glad your family loved it, it’s one of my favorites.

Your recipe doesn’t have how much mini marshmellows..yet your photo has mini marshmellows.
Maria
There are not any mini marshmallows. I am not sure what you are seeing in the pic, there are apple pieces maybe some of them look like marshmallows in the picture. This salad is sooooo delicious! It’s the thing I get most excited to eat at Thanksgiving! YUM!
