The Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies! Soft, chewy, perfect in all the ways you want your chocolate chip cookie to taste. Tell your current favorite chocolate chip recipe I'm sorry...there is a good chance this one is going to replace it.
Recipe type: Chocolate Chip Cookies
Serves: 2½ dozen
  • ¾ cup butter, softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt (I like coarse sea salt)
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips, plus more for the top of cookies
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and prepare one or two baking sheets with cooking spray, parchment paper, or a silicone mat and set aside.
  2. With a hand mixer or in your stand mixer, cream the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla. Mix well.
  4. Next, add the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt. Blend together.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  6. Using a cookie scoop or by hand, place cookie balls about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet. Press three chocolate chips on top of each cookie ball.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Cookies should be just browning on the edges when done.
  8. Let cookies sit on cookie sheet for 1-2 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
