Recipe type: Appetizer/Bread
Serves: 72 bites
Ingredients
  • 1 pkg refrigerated buttermilk biscuits (I used Pillsbury Grands.)
  • 1½ tbsp baking soda
  • 4-5 cups water
  • Coarse sea salt
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Prepare a cooking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
  2. Put 4-5 cups of water in a 10-inch skillet and add the baking soda. Bring water to a boil.
  3. While water is coming to a boil use a pizza cutter, knife, or kitchen sheers to cut the biscuits into 9 pieces.
  4. Next, place 9-12 pieces in the boiling water for 15-20 seconds. Try to make sure they get fully submerged or flip them so all sides get coated in the baking soda water.
  5. Remove the pretzel bites quickly with a slotted spoon and place them on the prepared cooking sheet, making sure the pieces are not overlapping and not touching each other, if possible. Then sprinkle them with coarse sea salt.
  6. Repeat until all have gone in the boiling water bath.
  7. Next, bake pretzel bites at 400 degrees for 11-15 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven, and enjoy plain or dip in cheese sauce, mustard, or your favorite pretzel dip.
  9. Enjoy!
