Simple Steps for making delicious Homemade gravy out of pan drippings. Always smooth and delicious!

  • Drippings form a beef roast, pork roast or baked chicken
  • 3-4 cups warm water
  • ⅔ cup Cold Water
  • ⅓ cup all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper if needed
  1. Pour warm water into pan that has drippings (if drippings are on a cookie sheet use a cup of warm water or two to loosen and scrape off the drippings and meat bits into a sauce pan Once it's in the sauce pan add the rest of the warm water.)
  2. Put sauce pan on medium heat and bring to a boil while making sure to scrape all the flavor bits and drippings.
  3. In a cup or small bowl combine flour and cold water. Whisk it with a whisk or fork until it is smooth.
  4. Slowly pour the flour slurry into the pot of boiling broth as you are continually whisking.
  5. Turn burner down to a simmer, and allow to simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Add salt and pepper if necessary.
  7. Serve over mashed potatoes or white rice.
