Ingredients
Drippings from a beef roast, pork roast, or baked chicken
3-4 cups warm water
⅔ cup Cold Water
⅓ cup all-purpose flour
Salt and pepper if needed
Instructions
Pour warm water into pan that has drippings (if drippings are on a cookie sheet use a cup of warm water or two to loosen and scrape off the drippings and meat bits into a saucepan Once it's in the saucepan add the rest of the warm water.)
Put saucepan on medium heat and bring to a boil while making sure to scrape all the flavor bits and drippings.
In a cup or small bowl combine flour and cold water. Whisk it with a whisk or fork until it is smooth.
Slowly pour the flour slurry into the pot of boiling broth as you are continually whisking.
Turn burner down to a simmer, and allow to simmer for 10 minutes.
Add salt and pepper if necessary.
Serve over mashed potatoes or white rice.
