Pulled Pork with Easy Homemade BBQ Sauce
A simple homemade BBQ sauce added to cooked, shredded pork makes for delicious pulled pork sandwiches.

  • 2-3 lbs pork roast
  • 1 cup onion, finely chopped
  • ½ cup celery, finely chopped
  • 1 carrot, finely grated (optional)
  • 2-3 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 2½ tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp prepared mustard
  • ½ tsp ground pepper
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  1. Cook meat in a crockpot or in a covered pan in the oven until meat shreds easily.
  2. When the meat is cooked and shredded, keep it covered and warm while you prepare the sauce.
  3. In a saucepan, saute onion, celery, and carrot in butter until onions are tender.
  4. Add all other ingredients and bring to a simmer.
  5. Simmer for at least 10 minutes.
  6. Pour sauce over meat and stir until all of the meat is coated.
  7. Serve on your favorite rolls.
