Author: Slightly adapted from Allrecipes
Recipe type: candy
Serves: 48 pieces
Ingredients
48 Saltine Crackers
1 cup butter, room temperature
1 cup brown sugar, packed
⅓ cup peanut butter
1 12 oz package milk chocolate chips
¼ cup crushed peanuts
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Cover the bottom of a rimmed cookie sheet with soda crackers.
In a small saucepan, bring the butter and brown sugar to a boil over medium-high heat. Boil for exactly three minutes and pour immediately over the saltines.
Spread the mixture to cover the crackers completely.
Bake at 400 degrees for 5 minutes.
While crackers are baking, warm up the ⅓ cup peanut butter in the microwave for about 30 seconds.
When crackers are out of the oven, drizzle the peanut butter evenly over the crackers.
Use a double boiler or a microwave to melt the chocolate chips. If using a microwave, add 1 tsp of canola oil, cook for 30-second intervals, stirring in between until nice and smooth.
Drizzle the amount of chocolate evenly over the crackers and peanut butter. Use the back of a spoon to cover the entire surface.
Sprinkle with chopped peanuts and let the treat cool completely before breaking into pieces and serving. The cooling takes 4-6 hours depending on the temperature in your house. You will know they are completely cooled when the chocolate has hardened.
Enjoy!
