Fresh garlic, ginger, and sesame oil come together with pantry staples to make a delicious sauce to perfectly complement the broccoli, chicken, and mushrooms in this recipe. This simple recipe really is better than take-out!
salt and pepper to season chicken (I use ½ tsp salt and ⅛ tsp pepper)
4-5 cups of fresh broccoli florets
1 medium-sized onion, cut into strips or diced
8 ounces of fresh mushrooms, thinly sliced
SAUCE:
1 cup chicken broth
3 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp brown sugar, lightly packed (or honey)
1½ tbsp cornstarch
2 tsp fresh ginger, grated
2 tsp fresh garlic, crushed
Instructions
In a small or medium-sized bowl, prepare the sauce by whisking together the chicken broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, fresh ginger, and fresh garlic. Set aside.
Give the sauce you set aside a quick whisk and pour it over the broccoli and chicken. Continue cooking for 3-5 more minutes until broccoli and mushrooms are tender and sauce is thickening.
Serve immediately over jasmine rice. YUM!
Enjoy!
