Homemade Italian Salad Dressing Mix {How To Post}

**Make sure to follow Real Life Dinner on Facebook and Pinterest so you won’t miss any fantastic recipes!**

Homemade Italian Salad Dressing MIxThis homemade Italian Salad Dressing mix is my secret weapon. I use it in everything from actual Italian Salad Dressing, to dips, soups, pasta salads and anything else I think could use a little zip!

I have been making it for a few years now and love how convenient it is to keep on hand. It is easy peasy to mix up and can be stored for months in a Ziploc bag or air tight container.

This is my go to dressing when I make Pasta Salad.Β My good friend Toni let me in on a little secret that Seasoned Rice Wine Vinegar instead of white or red in Italian Salad dressing is the bomb. I haven’t made it any other way since. You’ve got to try it.

Homemade Buttermilk Ranch

Cilantro Honey Lime Dressing

Poppy Seed Vinaigrette Salad Dressing

I store the dry mix in a small Ziploc in my spice drawer. I put a piece of masking tape with dressing recipe on it so I don’t have to try and remember the proper amounts every time I make it.

Directions for Italian Dressing Dry MixMy favorite type of vinegar to use when making the dressing is seasoned rice wine vinegar.Β It is so good. My friend Toni who is Italian told me to use it, and I have never looked back!

    Oooo doing this today! We’re out of store bought dressing (which hubby loves and prefers), but as I read I see SO many other places to use it!

    I’m so glad I found your instructions for both seasoning mix and dressing. I’m on a low iodine diet because I’m preparing my body for thyroid cancer therapy next week. I can’t have store bought dressing, so I’ve made this with plain salt, have a chicken breast marinating in it and some no-yolk noodles boiling. I can’t wait to eat! I’m getting tired of oatmeal, bananas and homemade applesauce. πŸ™‚

    I have been making this dressing mix for approximately eight years now and I’ve shared it with countless friends and family. Everyone who has visited us in Germany and had this dressing has immediately asked where I found the recipe. I make two batches of it and store it in a Tupperware container because we go through almost a bottle a week in our home since we are huge salad eaters. It also work great in soups! Thanks for another amazing addition to our home staples.

    Hi! What brand of ‘seasoned rice wine vinegar’ do you use? As I’ve been looking I’ve found out there’s rice vinegar & rice wine vinegar, which are different from each other. Other ones with similar sounding names as well that are all different. I just want to get the right one to do the job right! Thanks in advance!

      Hi, I use Nakano with the red lid, but as long as you get a seasoned rice vinegar, your results should be great!
