Pina Coladas {non-alcoholic}

Pina-Coladas-non-alcoholic-real-life-dinnerYOU GUYS! These Pina Coladas {non-alcoholic} are the BEST!!! I can’t believe I haven’t posted this crazy easy recipe. It feels generous to even call it a recipe it’s SO easy. For another delicious summertime recipe, try this Dole Whip recipe.

I am telling you, people will LOVE you if you make these Pina Coladas for them. Every time I make them for people, they beg for seconds and the recipe.

kid-friendly-pina-coladas-so-delicious-everyone-begs-for-secondsA blender, pineapple juice, a can of cream of coconut, and ice are all you need to whip up a glass of pure happiness and refreshment.

Delicious Drinks Perfect for Summertime

  • Kool-Aid Shaved Ice and Snow Cone Syrup
  • Sparkling Cucumber Limeade Party Drink
  • Party Slush
  • Italian Sodas with Cream

It is super important that you use the right kind of cream of coconut or the Pina Coladas are going to taste terrible. No, really. I am serious. I have tried almost every kind out there, and the two I am about to recommend are for sure the BEST.

non-alcoholic-pina-coladas-three-ingredients-easy-peasy-the-whole-family-will-love-itThe first one is called Coco Lopez. You can usually find Coco Lopez near the mixed drink section at the grocery store. It is about 2-3 dollars a can. Coco Lopez is the one pictured above.

The second type that is delicious is the GOYA Cream of Coconut. It can be found in the Hispanic foods section of the grocery store. Goya Cream of Coconut also comes in a blue can with a picture of a coconut on the label. It is a 15-ounce can and usually runs close to 2 dollars a can, give or take a little.

Now that we have that covered, let’s get down to business and show you the recipe.

HOW TO MAKE PINA COLADAS {NON-ALCOHOLIC}

  • Pour the pineapple juice and cream of coconut into a blender.
  • Add ice until it is up to the liquid level. (The liquid should be just covering the ice).
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Enjoy!

You can’t help smiling when you are drinking one of these.

Tips for making Pina Coladas {non-alcoholic}
  • Make sure to use the right kind of cream of coconut or the Pina Coladas are going to taste terrible. I recommend using Coco Lopez or GOYA Cream of Coconut.
  • Before opening the can of cream of coconut, shake it.
  • Do not substitute coconut milk for the cream of coconut. The cream of coconut is much sweeter and gives the delicious, sweet flavor that you can’t get from regular coconut milk.
  • If you buy a large can of pineapple juice (46 oz) and a 15 ounce can of cream of coconut, you can make three batches.
  • The Pina Coladas can be as thick or thin as you want, depending upon how much ice you add.

    If you want to kick it up a notch, use crushed pineapple instead of pineapple juice. It’s a family secret dating back to the mid-70’s when my mother spent a summer going to parties with a blender under her arm.

        I use a big can of pineapple juice and add 1/3 of it to 1/3 of the can of cream of coconut and then ice to the right consistency. this gives me three batches per can of cream of coconut and large can of pineapple juice.

      Bummer, unfortunately coconut milk does not work as a substitute. The cream of coconut is much sweeter and gives the delicious sweet flavor that you can’t get from regular coconut milk.

      I just keep adding ice until it is the consistency I want. Sorry, I haven’t ever measured. It is around one ice cube tray full though, I think.

    AWESOME!! Just tried it tonight and this is by far the easiest and BEST recipe on Pinterest. I added a little more ice than the recipe (an inch above the liquid line) so I wouldn’t have a liquidy result and it came out PERFECT! Just like a piña colada at a bar.
    My kids loved this and I couldn’t make it fast enough for seconds. I made my own cream of coconut instead of buying. I spent less than $1.00 by making my own and storing the extra in the fridge. Love this! Thanks for sharing!

      Hi Diane. Each batch (the large can of pineapple juice and the can of coconut cream make three batches. I usually get 4-5 cups per batch so it depends on how much you pour into each glass to serve. you should get 12-15 8 ounce servings. I hope that helps.

      That’s a good question. It would depend on how much ice you blend into it. This recipe is kind of cool because you can make it as thick or as thin as you want it by how much ice you add.
