Not only are Shanna’s Amazing Chocolate Chip Cookies DELICIOUS, but they are also world-famous! My friend, Shanna, makes the world’s best chocolate chip cookies, AND she has also lived all over the world as a military spouse. So she has literally been spreading the BEST chocolate chip cookies AND love all.over.the.world! I am so glad I’ve been a recipient of her amazing cookies, and I’m so excited that she gave me permission to share the recipe. If you love all things chocolate chip, put this Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie on your list of must-make recipes too.
I will say, however, that my cookies don’t ever look quite as beautiful as hers. It must be the extra love she puts in hers. Maybe one day I’ll get it right, but in the meantime, I’ll just keep practicing. These cookies are sooooo good!
Go check your cupboards! There is a really good chance you have everything you need to whip up a batch. You’re going to love these cookies. Just make sure you double it!

Tips for Making Shanna’s Amazing Chocolate Chip Cookies
- MOST IMPORTANT TIP: Double the batch every time! Really! These go way too fast if you don’t double it.
- I don’t want to tell you what to do, but I strongly suggest making these with milk chocolate chips. I’ve had them both ways, and I don’t have anything against semi-sweet chocolate chips, but these just taste extra good with milk chocolate chips.
- Use a cookie scoop. No messy hands and it’s kind of fun.
- Put three little chocolate chips on top of each cookie. This is Shanna’s signature and a very important part of what makes these Shanna’s Amazing Chocolate Chip Cookies.
- Do not overcook. Edges will be just barely turning a light brown when cookies are done.
- Let cookies sit on the cookie sheet for 1 or 2 minutes after they come out of the oven before transferring to a cooling rack.
- If you don’t have a cooling rack you can put them on some foil or a clean hand towel on your countertop. You want to get them off the hot baking sheet after a minute or two so they won’t keep baking.
- Let cool completely before storing in an airtight container or Ziploc bag.
baker’s tools:
- ¾ cup butter, softened
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt (I like coarse sea salt)
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips, plus more for the top of cookies
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and prepare one or two baking sheets with cooking spray, parchment paper, or a silicone mat and set aside.
- With a hand mixer or in your stand mixer, cream the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
- Add the egg and vanilla. Mix well.
- Next, add the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt. Blend together.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Using a cookie scoop or by hand, place cookie balls about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet. Press three chocolate chips on top of each cookie ball.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Cookies should be just browning on the edges when done.
- Let cookies sit on cookie sheet for 1-2 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
- Enjoy!

I’m making these for my soon-to-be 3 year old’s birthday dessert tomorrow (somehow I ended up with a family who does not like cake 🤷🏻♀️). My husband and I want to make them tonight, but I guess we can wait one more day. For some reason I have a hard time making consistently good chocolate chip cookies, so I’m looking forward to giving these a go! They look so good!! #febgiveaway
