(This picture has nothing to do with anything, I just thought I’d throw it in because I didn’t take any pics of the boys today. It’s from last night at the Cub Scouts Rain Gutter Rigata.)
Today hasn’t been my favorite. They boys were way off their game this morning and instead of being patient about it, I went into full beast mode and yelled and pointed out everything they were not doing right or fast enough. Not the best foot to start a day out on.
Instead of crawling back into bed and pulling the covers over my head I went to the gym to try and help me get in a better mood.
It kind of worked until after lunch when I was trying to get some work done during nap time and my computer was being sooooo annoying and kept shutting down right when I was in the middle of something and my SD card that I needed to get a bunch of pictures off of was reading as an “error” and it took me an hour to finally get it to read and get the pictures off. By that time Trever had woken up from nap so my hope of getting a couple recipe posts ready went down the toilet. Grrr.
Char Char had a b-day party so she didn’t get a nap and that mixed with having a dress rehearsal that we didn’t get home from until 8:30 made for a pretty scary bedtime situation. There were many tears and tons of drama.
The dress rehearsal itself was pretty great though. Charlotte’s group danced second and it was really cute. I was happy that we could get out of there quick, but Charlotte had other ideas. She wanted to stay and watch “lots, and lots, and lots, of dances, Mom.”
I was sitting by a friend and enjoying chatting with her so I let her stay and watch lots and lots. She couldn’t handle just watching though and was up and in the isle dancing and jumping around to the music of every song. I thought about stopping her but it was bringing her so much joy, I just couldn’t…although I did have to remind her not to get to close to parents trying to video their kids.
I finally convinced her to leave by telling her that if we didn’t hurry McDonalds would close and we wouldn’t be able to get chicken nuggets and fries. Worked like a charm.
I was tired and so relieved to be loading in the car. When we got to it, I realized I didn’t have my phone. “Are you kidding me?”
We walked all the way back in and searched under the seats where we had been sitting. I couldn’t find it. As we were walking back to the van which I had already searched I was feeling pretty sad that I must have really lost it. More than the fact that it is a new phone and I’ve only had it a few months, I was really sad that there are some precious videos of the kids that I wouldn’t ever be able to get back.
I thought I had searched every part of my purse but I decided to check the weird pocket I never use and sure enough it was in there. I still can’t figure it out because I have no recollection at all of putting it in there….maybe Char did it?
We headed home and on our way we stopped at Wendy’s (I just couldn’t take going to Muck and Yucks aka:McDonalds) and got some dinner. I had Chili and I tried their new Ghost Pepper Fries, which were pretty good if you like spicy stuff. Charlotte opted for chicken nuggets and fries.
I had left fish sticks and baked fries at home for the rest of the family.
I took a few pictures of Charlotte before we left for the rehearsal. This one is my favorite.
Despite the extra dose of Sass and Drama my Char was born with, I wouldn’t trade her for the world, that girl has my heart!
Keep it Real!!!
