If you’re new here, read my first What’s for Dinner post to get filled in on what’s going on. If you’ve been to this rodeo before, let’s get to business.
This post will be short, I was pretty much crazy busy today and totally forgot it was Thursday so the pictures are pretty sparse.
I taught preschool this morning. I was so un-prepared but luckily they are 2 and 3 and really don’t notice. I could not find the special stickers and paper I had picked up at the dollar store last week that I was planning on doing a special activity with….I’m sure I will find it tomorrow, cause that is just how things go around here.
Since it is almost Valentines day I decided to talk about hearts and make cookies. The kids loved it. Most of them did really well getting their dough rolled out and hearts punched out. Charlotte, however, kept trying to cut a heart out of her big ball of dough and refused to let me help her, so her cookies were big balls of dough that had no chance of cooking properly. So when she wasn’t looking I flattened them down with my hand so they would at least cook through.
I do love that she has spunk, but today was rough and she was extra contrary to everything I suggested or needed her to do.
Her personality will serve her well one day. Her personality will serve her well one day. Her personality will serve her well one day…….
I can’t tell you how often that thought went through my mind today.
I did have a bright spot to look forward to amid the tantrum-ing toddler episodes. I had a hair appointment to get a trim and some fresh highlights.
Yay! It’s been a long time, and it was nice to get away for a bit.
My husband had basketball games tonight so I had to make my appointment early enough that he could still get to his games so he met us on his way home from work at the salon and then took the kids home and made dinner.
He made his specialty. Chicken and Vegetable Stir Fry. He’s getting pretty darn good at it. I had a big plate of it when I got home.
He also made a small batch of his favorite cookies. They are old fashioned sugar cookies that his mom used to make and he LOVES them.
When I went to load the pictures to put on tonight, I noticed that Sim had taken some pictures before dinner, even though I wasn’t home. I think it is so cute that he did that. He doesn’t want to admit it but he loves this blog.
And, holy cow, this picture of Charlotte and Trever cracks me up….could they look less enthusiastic about dinner?
Keep it Real!!!
Maria
