If you’re new here, read my first What’s for Dinner post to get filled in on what’s going on. If you’ve been to this rodeo before, let’s get to business.
***Before I get to this weeks post, I need to let those of you who read last weeks post know that Sim has forgiven me and I am out of the dog house. I knew he wouldn’t be able to stay mad at me for long, but I was a little worried. I wasn’t kidding when I said he has never been that mad at me before. Never!
It’s nice to be back on the nice list.
Now, for this weeks post….as you can see, it’s 4 days late. I’m allowed to miss a Thursday posts on days I don’t get home until 1:00 am and also on Christmas. 🙂
The best way to tell you about our Thursday (Christmas Day) is with a boat load of pictures so here it goes.
I just had to start with this picture from Christmas Eve.All the kids dressed up to do the Nativity, and I love this picture, I can’t get enough of Megan taking her job as the Angel so seriously, baby Jesus sitting up in his “manger,” the donkey playing with the wise men’s gift, the Shepard reading a book… The whole thing is just adorable to me.
Christmas Morning was quite possibly one of the best days of Conner and Thatcher’s lives. Conner was hilarious and had an ear to ear smile the entire time.
Santa took a picture of the basketball shoot he left at our house for the boys and put the picture in their stocking with a note. As you can see Conner was not excited about this at all.
His quote of the morning was. “You can bet that if my stocking is this full, I was really good this year.”
Thatcher was looking a little sleepy, but equally as happy with his presents.
Have you ever seen or heard of Hess Trucks? We hadn’t until we moved to the East, but man are they cool. Our boys LOVE them! They make one edition a year and when they sale out they are gone. Glad I got mine early, they are sold out and I just looked on Amazon and they are going for almost three times what I paid.
His quote of the morning was “FINALLY, I got exactly what I wanted for the FIRST time. YEAH!!!!” …I’m not sure if I should feel awesome about that or a little sad…..
Charlotte liked her presents…
….but she especially loved the pistachios in her stocking and begged anyone and everyone to open them for her. Her quote of the morning was, “I want MORE, MORE, MORE…Five, seven, nine, ten.”
…she also really wanted to steal Cousin Nates’ present. She jumped and jumped and jumped.
Trever was more interested in stray wrapping paper and sitting on dad’s head then his gifts, but he did take a minute to smile at his new dragon.
And I broke out in a happy dance when I saw that my mom and dad got me exactly what I wanted. I can’t wait to use it.
It’s a Deluxe Thermal Cooker from Saratoga Jacks. Everyone made fun of me for the infomercial I gave about it after I opened it. But I will have the last laugh when they see how awesome it is! Be prepared to hear a lot more about this awesome, awesome gadget in the future!
It was a great Christmas, except for my sister got the plague or something similar and spent most of Christmas day in bed. She was still not feeling well when we left yesterday. I’m hoping we didn’t bring any of those nasty germs home with us.
Charlotte loves Aunt Merry and just couldn’t be stopped from being close to her so if anyone is going to get the plague it will be her.
Merry’s friend Kalley and her family came over for Christmas Dinner. I just love Kalley, she is the best, I’ve known her for about 6 years now and she is just the kindest most amazing person ever. She always has the best recipes too. (Merry is probably going to kill me for posting this picture of her…it’s real life ‘sis)
Kalley brought an amazing Carrot Cake for dessert, I ate it for breakfast and lunch the next day too. It’s okay it has vegetables fruit and nuts in it.
Kalley also made cute snowman cupcakes for the kids.
Dinner was delicious, it was very similar to Thanksgiving dinner.
I made a fresh cranberry salad that was the bomb. I ate half of it myself.
Usually when I go to my sisters I make lots of new recipes so I can photograph them in front of her magic window. It makes everything look amazing it is the perfect amount of light…see how nice it makes this salad look….but I was so lazy this time this cranberry salad was the only new recipe I made all week.
Charlotte and Kalley’s little girl Ali really hit it off. They were fast friends . They shared their toys, laughed at each other, carried on like little old ladies, sat by each other at dinner and gave each other a big hug when it was time for Ali to leave. So cute!
We all loved having Uncle Jake and Grandma and Grandpa being here for Christmas.
Uncle Jake is one of Trever’s look a likes. Grandpa, Myself and Uncle Jeremy are the other three. Great, does this mean I look like a boy?
There’s nothing like lounging around eating your stocking and watching new movies in your pajama’s all day.
And all I wanted for Christmas was a picture of my kids in front of the tree….didn’t happen. I was a bit distracted all day and when I finally remembered, Charlotte was already asleep and everyone else was completely over getting their picture taken. This was the best I could do. HA!
Thatcher’s face is killing me. Conner may or may not ever get gum in his stocking again, and Trever well, he’s just adorable smile or not….however, he is not adorable when he screams bloody murder for hours when you are driving home from Aunt Merry’s. Good thing he has a whole year to get off the naughty list.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!
Keep it Real!!!
Maria
I almost forgot. All you game loving families need this game. It’s so fun. We played it non-stop all weekend and the great thing is kids as young as six can play because the concept is so simple yet so fun adults love it too!
