What’s for Dinner {July 17, 2014}

If you’re new here, read my first What’s for Dinner post to get filled in on what’s going on. If you’ve been to this rodeo before, let’s get to business.

We are one week away from moving and busily trying to get things packed up. As much as I haven’t felt like making dinner, I’ve made a big effort to make meals every night this week because I know next week will be crazy and we’ll probably be ordering pizza or hitting a drive-thru most nights.

Whats for Dinner {July 16, 2014}Tonight I made one of our favorite casseroles, Chicken Chili Casserole. I used the leftover Chicken Gravy from the Hawaiian Haystacks we had last night, in place of the cream of chicken and diced chicken the recipe calls for. I love turning leftovers into something yummy. We also had some frozen veggies and sliced oranges.

My kids love oranges, especially Charlotte.

Charlottes OragnesTrever’s been having a few hard days. I’m pretty sure he has acid reflux. He has a check-up tomorrow and I am hoping the pediatrician will prescribe some medicine for him to try so we can see if it will help. I also think I need to stop eating chocolate. I hadn’t had any for about a week, and so when I finally made brownies on Monday, I went crazy and ate about half the pan…..he really had a bad day on Tuesday. I”ve never given up a food while nursing before, but I think I might have to this time. It seems to really affect him.

ON the couch He sleeps much better on an incline or in our arms, so usually at least once a day I hold him for one of his naps(again, something I never did with my other kids.) But  hey, when you’re on your fourth kid it’s all about survival. It helps that he is so sweet and cute when he is sleeping, so I don’t mind enjoying an hour of time staring at his cute little face and body….If only Charlotte didn’t enjoy spending that same hour trying to  touch him and wake him up.

Charlottes ToeSpeaking of Charlotte that poor girl had a rough night. Tonight we were getting ready to have a little ice cream for dessert and Thatcher and Charlotte started fighting over the biggest bowl. The tug of war ended with the large glass bowl falling right on Charlotte’s big toe. OUCH!!!! She cried for an hour and wouldn’t let us touch it. We were pretty sure it was broken but once she finally calmed down she would walk on it and she can bend it, so hopefully it is okay.

Never a dull moment around here!

Keep it Real!!!

Maria
