What’s for Dinner {March 26, 2015}

If you’re new here, read my first What’s for Dinner post to get filled in on what’s going on. If you’ve been to this rodeo before, let’s get to business.

I’m about to lose consciousness, so there is a good chance this post will have even more spelling/grammar errors then normal.

Spent almost all day painting the new house. I’ve been going over there every day to paint. Friends have been watching Charlotte and Trever for me so I can get a lot done. I’m so grateful and it has been so helpful!

 Today Charlotte had an extra special day and got to see lots of friends. She hasn’t stopped talking about her day and how she got to play with friends AND go to McDonalds.

my new best friendSpeaking of painting, this is my new best friend. Makes edging take a fraction of the time, except it can’t do the baseboards very well so that is sort of a pain. But it’s saving my life with the ceilings and around windows and doors. Best two dollars and fifty cents we’ve ever spent.

I’m making big progress, just have the boys room to finish and the kitchen. Tonight after dinner we all went over as a family (what were we thinking) somehow Sim and I still managed to get the edging done in the boys room and the wallpaper off in the kitchen so it will be ready for me tomorrow. YAY!

Problem is I left my camera there which had some awesome pictures of how not helpful the kids were, oh well, I’m sure you can use your imaginations and get a pretty accurate picture.

Trever screaming, Charlotte almost stepping in a tray of paint, Thatcher begging to help paint and Conner doing his homework, well the half he remembered to bring home from school today….I swear I’m going to lose it if that kid forgets his Math homework one more time….The whole experience took about three years off my life.

So I painted the bathroom yesterday and I’m a little worried I might need to repaint it. I keep hoping that once I paint the vanity dark brown and put dark brown crown molding around the big mirror it will tone down the yellow.

light off bathroomAs you can see, with the light off it looks normal…

light on bathroomBut with the light on it is crazy bright….yikes!

living roomI’m loving the other colors though. This is the living room and the same color is in the dining room and hallway and our bedroom. Charlotte’s room is a really light pink, the kitchen is a light gray with a fresh coat of white on the cabinets and the boys room will be a nice blue color with a gray stripe 3/4 of the way up the wall.

Can’t wait to be done. It’s a lot of work but I know we’ll be so glad we got it done before we moved in.

chickenBecause I was exhausted from painting all day, I made the boys day or possibly even their life, and had Sim pick up chicken from Royal farms. This isn’t just any chicken….it’s WORLD FAMOUS CHICKEN, if you don’t believe me just read the box.

I had some great pictures on the other camera of the boys smelling, eating and being over the moon about the chicken, but they are on the camera I left at the house too. Good thing I took some pics with my phone today…

Turns out Charlotte took some pics with my phone today too.

Found this gem and about a hundred just like it on my phone tonight, and yes I am as tired and as haggered as I look in this picture.

    What is the name of the paint in your living room? I love it! Looking for paint ideas for our new house.

      Lol Cora, I was just telling my sister that she needs to paint her house that color too. It is the best color ever. My friend just painted part of her house with it and she was kind enough to pass on the name of it to me. It is a Sherwin Williams Color, but they can mix it at home depot if you tell them it is from Sherwin William (they can find it in their computer.) Anyhow, it is called rain washed and I did it in eggshell. Good Luck.
