I’ll keep it short and sweet because I have a bunch of things to get done tonight…I just realized I didn’t even get the laundry moved from the washers to the dryers this afternoon and I still have two loads to fold and put away….ugh. I also have some finishing touches and plans to take care of for a cooking class I’m teaching tomorrow.
Today was pretty low key, Trever and I started our day off at the grocery store…I thought I had my bags in the back of my van but it turns out I only had one back there. Oops!
After that we went to get Charlotte and Alivia at preschool. Charlotte was so excited Alivia was coming over for a play date. I like to think that’s why she was running around making an evil shrieking sound while I was buckling Alivia and Trever into their car seats.
The girls played with Easter baskets and plastic eggs and had a great time hiding them for each other in the front yard.
It was really cute, one of the girls would stay in the house and cover their eyes while the other one hid the eggs. However, Alivia was much better about not peeking then Charlotte was.
There was actually no need to cover their eyes because as soon as the “hunter” came out, the “hide-er” immediately started telling them where all the eggs were.
Trever was not a welcomed participant, but they handled him stealing their eggs as well as could be expected.
Trever woke up from nap on the wrong side of the crib, so I decided to give him a cookie to see if that could make everything better and snuggled with him on the recliner. That worked pretty good until the cookie ran out.
He was begging me for another, but it was one of those big Little Debbie Oatmeal Sandwich Cookies and I just couldn’t bring myself to give him two in a row, no matter how much I wanted to make the whining/begging stop.
He finally realized I wasn’t going to give him another one, I was clearly only going to continue taking pictures of his angry face and so he went and grabbed his blankies and sippy cup and came back for more snuggling.
Shortly after that we picked up the boys from school and I made a pie and some of that Christmas Crack Candy (the stuff with Saltines) to take to a Ladies Church Meeting tonight, while the boys did their homework.
Sim had a Church Basketball Tournament tonight so I took the three youngest kids with me to the church and they had babysitting set up for them. Conner stayed home and worked on a “About Me” poster he has to take to school tomorrow. (I love the stuff you learn about your kids when they fill out stuff like this, and I love it that Sim is his Hero.) I still have to print out some pics for him to put on it in the morning.
The ladies meeting was really fun. It was a party to celebrate the birthday of the Relief Society. The ladies who planned it had a fun game similar to Hollywood Sqaures for us to play in the beginning. All the questions were Trivia about Relief Society. Then we moved into the gym where they had carnival type games set up. A cake walk, ring toss, donut on a string, dart throw, photo booth (I somehow missed that one), duck pond, and even a cotton candy machine.
This was the first time I’ve done the donut on a string thing….ummm, it is way harder then it looks.
After the meeting I grabbed the little kiddo’s and headed home, Dad sent a text that said they won their first game so he was staying to play in the next. I’m impatiently waiting for another text to see how the second game went. Every time he goes to these games I keep a prayer in my heart that he will come home whole, as in no sprained ankles. Fingers crossed.
Keep it Real,
Maria
