If you’re new here, read my first What’s for Dinner post to get filled in on what’s going on. If you’ve been to this rodeo before, let’s get to business.
Don’t be scared by the look of this dinner. I love this recipe! It’ s one of those diamond in the rough type of dinners. It doesn’t look like much, but it is so flavorful and can be adapted to whatever veggies you have on hand.
Conner was sick today and was feeling extra weak when it was time for dinner so he didn’t join us. Poor kid.
When he got home from school yesterday he had a 102.7 fever. He’ s had a fever all day again today so I think I’ m going to take him to the doctor tomorrow morning.
Preschool was at my house this morning. I was just the helper not the teacher. Charlotte gets SO excited about preschool. Before everyone arrived I was sweeping the hideous mess under the kitchen table and Charlotte wanted to help clean too. She grabbed a baby wipe (without me even asking) and started wiping down the banister on the stairs.
In my experience, this is something a little boy would never do, without prodding. Girls are awesome….well, except for the whole, super emotional/dramatic thing…..that get’s old.
My friend Catherine was the teacher and taught a really fun lesson about dinosaurs. The kids were enthralled with making dinosaur footprints in play-dough. Why didn’t I ever think of that? She’s kind of a genius!
Somehow Catherine and I got talking about little girl hair do’s.
I was telling her how Charlotte refuses to sleep with any kind of piggy tail or clip in her hair. She rips whatever hair do she has out at nap time. “That explains why every time I see her in person her hair is done, but it never is on your Thursday night posts.” HA! Yes, that is exactly why. There has to be something pretty darn important happening for me to do Charlotte’s hair more then once a day. The once a day is torture enough for both of us.
So, for those of you who don’t have the pleasure of seeing Charlotte in real life, let me assure you that I do, on occasion, actually do her hair.
My computer is making me crazy. It was getting fixed almost all of last week and then tonight it gave me the black screen of death and I was like NOOOOO!!!!
Luckily it was something Sim could fix and most likely happened when my friend Charlotte was “working” on my computer and “checking her e-mail” earlier today. She loves to take advantage of me not being able to get to her when I’m nursing Trever. #toosavvyandsmartforherowngood
In other news. The pinewood derby is on Saturday and I’ m not sure who is more excited, the boys or Sim. They’ ve been working on their cars every night for the last week or so.
Since we can’t do movie nights on Fridays anymore (Conner has B-ball Practice) Sim wanted to do one tonight and watch Down and Derby to get excited for Saturday.
That movie is Hilarious.
Sim spent most of the movie with three kids on his lap. Charlotte and Thatcher had also fought over who would get to sit next to dad at dinner tonight. Apparently he’s Mr. Popular.
After the movie it was time to read scriptures as a family and by the looks of this picture, it turns out that being Mr. Popular gets old really fast!
Keep it Real!!!
