If you’re new here, read my first What’s for Dinner post to get filled in on what’s going on. If you’ve been to this rodeo before, let’s get to business.
We’re still trying to decide if we really had a super fun vacation in Florida last week, or if that was all a dream.
Take me back…..it’s freezing here in MD. We got home from Florida just in time for another snow storm. We got 8 inches today. Schools were closed and so was my husbands work….we’ve already got the call that school is closed again tomorrow and we are waiting to hear if dad will have to go to work or not.
The snow days are starting to cut into our spring break now…big thumbs down for that one!
Because it was a snow day I felt it was my duty to make soup for dinner. I made one I’ve been meaning to post on the blog. Try and guess which picture I will use when I post it on the blog….one of these looks a whole lot more appetizing then the other. Same soup, different lighting, bowl and garnish.
Dad was MIA when it was time to have dinner. He was out helping neighbors shovel their driveways and we had no idea how long he would be and no way to reach him so we decided to start without him. Trever was being a super whiny man and wouldn’t let me put him down while I was trying to get everything finished and on the table.
Thatcher was a gem and set the table giving everyone a bowl, a spoon and a few crunched up crackers. I may or may not have been a titch bitter towards my husband for being a good person and helping our neighbors shovel. Why am I such a jerk! ….it’s the baby…..he makes me crazy……
The kids had a ball playing in the snow with dad and the neighbor boys earlier in the afternoon. I’m not a big fan of being outside, or being cold so I stayed in and did my best to finish attacking the unpacking……
I got distracted and started going through closets and putting things in piles for goodwill or storage (have I mentioned we bought a house and we’ll be moving into it sometime in the next 6 weeks or so)
….anywho, I basically just made a huge mess, especially in my bedroom) and now I have plenty of work to do tomorrow to get things back in some form of order.
This pile of wet snow crap makes me twitch….is it spring yet?
Conner has not stopped talking about and asking questions about the Swiss Family Robinson since he saw there tree house (over and over…it was one of his favorite things at Disney World) at Magic Kingdom.
He was so excited when he found this book today. He read it and then had even more questions. We rented it on Amazon tonight for movie night and he is LOVING it!
I hated it when I was younger, it stressed me out and made me all kinds of anxious. I find it kind of hilarious and also a little telling that Thatcher and Conner are loving it and Charlotte is biting her nails and keeps saying she doesn’t like it. Boys and girls are so different.
Before we could start the movie we cleaned up dinner and had scripture study and prayer. Conner was still finishing up dishes when Thatcher and Charlotte started doing my favorite thing that they do.
He sits at the piano and “plays” a song, while Charlotte leads it. They both sing and argue over when the introduction ends and how many verses of the song to sing. It is soooo cute! I love that Thatcher really thinks he is playing the song and not just a bunch of rubbish…..and let me clarify that it is only soooo cute when Trever is awake. It’s super not cute when he is asleep.
Try not to freeze to death!
Keep it Real!!!
