If you’re new here, read my first What’s for Dinner post to get filled in on what’s going on. If you’ve been to this rodeo before, let’s get to business.
Dad’s a trooper and has made dinner almost every night this week. I’ve pretty much given up at this point. He made eggs, hashbrowns and toast tonight. Other meals this week have consisted of hot dogs, spaghetti and Monday a friend made me some rock’n awesome mac ‘n cheese.
I cant remember if I’ve ever told you about how I have never gone into labor on my own. I’ve always been started. And so naturally I am sure that that is how things will go down again this time. But I am starting to get a little nervous. Not that I wouldn’t be thrilled to not be pregnant as soon as possible, but Conner is getting baptized on Saturday morning and we have family coming down for it, so it would be quite inconvenient for me to go into labor before about noon or 1:00 on Saturday.
I am pretty sure I won’t, but I was dilated to almost a 3 on Tuesday morning and I have been having tons of contractions the last few days…..this weekend could get interesting. Hopefully the baby will wait and come on Tuesday so I can enjoy the weekend and our company.
If the baby does come tonight or tomorrow we will just have to wait and have Conner baptized this summer when we are in Utah. But that would be a little disappointing for him, because he has been looking forward to getting baptized with his friend Nate.
In other news, I can not get enough cantaloupe and cucumbers lately. It’s all I want to eat! Had myself a half of a cantaloupe for lunch along with a nice over-sized portion of potato chips. The fact that I actually chose to eat something that I had to wash and cut should tell you how strong my love for cantaloupe is right now.
Another thing I am not sure I have mentioned is that we are moving in the end of July. We will still be here in the same area, but we are going to be rent/house sitting for some friends/people we know from church, while they are on a scientist exchange program in Germany for a year. We are excited because they have a four bedroom house and they even have chickens that we get to take care of.
This is our first move in 6 years that we won’t have packers to move everything for us so we are taking it as a good opportunity to purge ourselves of much of the junk we have been collecting for ten years. One of the items that has to go is something we’ve only had for a few months but it hasn’t worked out and we can’t find anyone who wants it, so…..off to the dump it goes.
It’s a piano, a very heavy piano, that actually scratched our kitchen floor pretty good on it’s way into the house and was a total beast even with five strong guys lifting it. To try and help it not be such a hard thing to move this time, Sim has started gutting it. He took out some parts the other night, including removing all the keys (which surprisingly weigh about 50 lbs all together.)
It was pretty funny when Charlotte went over to it the next morning like she does everyday to plunk out a few numbers. I heard this exasperated, “AWWW! What Daddy do my pano?” “My pano, Mommy?” She was so shocked. The shock is slowly wearing off, but she still lifts it up at least 20 times a day to check and see if the keys are still gone. Sorry Char Char, your pano is goner!
Keep it Real!

I hope baby cooperates with you! Good luck with everything!
