If you are new here, read my first What’s for Dinner post to get filled in on what the heck’s going on around here. If you have been to this rodeo before, let’s get down to business.
Dinner was so delicious tonight. Seriously!!! I keep wanting to go eat the small portion I saved for my husbands lunch. He is out playing basketball right now, so he would never know, right? I could blame it on one of the kids. Like the one in my stomach. 🙂 I blame him for lots of the things I have been eating lately.
Remember the spaghetti sauce we had for dinner last Thursday? I froze half of it and pulled it out tonight to use with stuffed shells. Mmmm, Mmmm, Mmmm. We all gobbled it right up. My husband said, “This is the best sauce you have ever made stuffed shells with,” (not sure if that was a compliment…what are you trying to say dear…that my stuffed shells aren’t usually this good?) Watch it mister.
Conner also chimed in with a “I LOVE this sauce!” Charlotte and Thatcher were too involved in eating to be bothered with dishing out compliments.
Each and every one of you really do need to make that sauce and then freeze half of it and make stuffed shells a week later. I will make it a point to get those recipes up in the next few days. Update: I posted the Stuffed Shells Recipe over on The Mother Huddle.
As delicious as dinner was, the time leading up to it was pretty hectic. I started the dough for some Artisan bread much later then I should of and it was taking forever to rise. The boys were outside in the FRIGID cold playing in a snow pile that they keep trying to make a tunnel through so I would go check out the window every few seconds to make sure it hadn’t caved in on them, and Charlotte was begging, crying, throwing herself on the floor because she wanted to go outside with them. You know the all too familiar typical dinner time drama we mothers face every evening.
This is what bread looks like when you cut into it, with your crappy knife because you are too lazy to wash the good one, right when it comes out of the oven because you are starving and don’t want to wait for it to cool a little.
At least we didn’t have basketball practice for Conner tonight. It go canceled. I probably shouldn’t be so happy about that, but it kind of made my day. I didn’t have to take three kids out in the freezing cold and then try to entertain two of them while he day dreamed and picked his nose on the basketball court had practice. That wasn’t nice. He is actually getting a little better at staying focused now that I pay him a dollar for every rebound he gets in his games. You gotta do what you gotta do. I owe him five bucks already for the last two games.
I hope you are all having a wonderful Thursday and that you had something wonderful for dinner.
Keep it Real!!!

I’ll get it up tomorrow. 🙂

Best laugh of the week. Poor Conner. Looking forward to that recipe!

🙂 Conner, Conner, Conner. 🙂

Funny boy! By the way, we resorted to payment as well. We pay our boys a dollar (or a treat) for every basket they make.

🙂 Glad to hear I am not the only one. It does seem to help him stay a lot more focused. 🙂

Mmmmm – that looks sooo good. Spaghetti is my oldest’s favorite food, and I have been looking for a GREAT spaghetti sauce recipe. I definitely need to try yours.
