  • Make the Copycat Smash Burger Sauce first so the spices can meld together. Put it in the refrigerator until ready to serve. The recipe makes 2 cups. If you like extra sauce, double the recipe. You can make the sauce the day before for easy prep.
  • If you don’t want or like smash burger sauces, add ketchup, mustard, mayo, etc., when serving.
  • For a spicy burger, use Cajun seasoning in the ground beef.
  • Use an 80/20 ground beef blend for a moister, more flavorful hamburger. Be sure to drain the grease off.
  • Ground turkey or ground chicken are good substitutes for ground beef.
  • Prep your toppings beforehand.
  • Assemble right before serving so the lettuce does not become wilted.
  • Store leftovers in separate airtight containers in the fridge for the best texture and freshness.
