Holiday Ham {Perfect for Easter and Christmas}

Holiday-Ham-Marinade-Barbecue-Ham

This Holiday Ham {Perfect for Easter and Christmas} recipe is like an institution in our family. I don’t think any of us feel like we can properly celebrate Christmas or Easter without it. And it’s so good we look for excuses to make it all year long. We love to serve it with these Yummy Funeral Potatoes and these Best Ever Green Beans. The flavors complement each other perfectly.

The marinade that the ham cooks in gives it a slightly sweet, tangy flavor, and the low cooking temperature with the long cooking time leaves the meat perfectly tender and falling off the bone.

Serve with…

  • Mom’s Best Dinner Rolls
  • Company Cauliflower
  • Maple Balsamic Roasted Carrots
  • Classic Broccoli Salad Recipe
  • Sarah’s Salad
  • Lunch Lady Cafeteria Rolls

Holiday Ham is a great dinner to make when you have guests over because it’s really low maintenance and comes out delicious every time.

how to make holiday ham

  • Place ham roast in a large roasting pan with a lid. If you do not have one, use a deep pan that can be covered tightly with foil.
  • Mix all other ingredients together in a microwave-safe bowl and heat the mixture in the microwave until sugar dissolves.
  • Pour mixture over ham and cover with a lid or with tin foil if your pan doesn’t have a lid.
  • Bake at 225 degrees for 8-10 hours.
  • Baste several times during cooking time.
  • Enjoy!

Tips for making Holiday Ham
  • If your crockpot is big enough, you can cook the ham in the crockpot. First, place the ham in the crockpot, make the sauce, pour it over the ham, set the temperature on low, and cook for 8 hours.
  • Be sure to cover the roasting pan with a lid or cover it tightly with tin foil before placing it in the oven.
  • When you plate the meat, drizzle some of the drippings over the ham to keep it extra flavorful.

Cook’s tools:

  • Large Roasting Pan
  • Microwave-safe Bowl
  • Measuring Cups
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Carving Knife & Fork Set
  • Serving Platter
